The “India: A Bird’s Eye View Challenge”

Invites passionate drone pilots /and filmmakers to create a 2-3 minutes video on the breathtaking beauty and diversity of India through the unique perspective of Aerial Drone Cinematography. This challenge invites participants to create a video showcasing India from a bird's-eye perspective using Drone Technology. The challenge is part of the run-up activities for the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES), scheduled to be held at New Delhi from 5th to 9th February 2025.

How to participate in the challenge

The participants who are interested in taking part in the challenge will need to do the following:

1 Step 1: Registration
2 Step 2: Shooting / Preparing The Video

Post completion of registration, participants are required to shoot and prepare a drone video, on the central theme “India: A Bird’s Eye View” showcasing the breathtaking beauty and diversity of India through the unique perspective of aerial drone cinematography. Suggested topics / content for the video are:

  • Showcasing India’s rich heritage.
  • Highlighting the diverse cultures across India.
  • Celebrating the diversity of India.
  • Emphasizing the uniqueness of India.
  • Illustrating India as a pioneer in various domains.
  • Depicting the well-developed ancient civilization of India.
  • Presenting a modern, developed India.
  • Featuring innovative initiatives in India that have significantly impacted the masses.
  • Video Showcasing usage of Drone under the Drone Didi Programme or any other social work related to the community

There will be two categories under which participants can apply:

All other participants other than ‘Drone Didi Beneficiaries’.

3 Step 3: Submission Of The video

Shortlisting / Evaluation of the videos

The videos submitted by the participants will be shortlisted as follows:

The videos submitted by the participants will be shortlisted by a panel constituted by BECIL. The best 50 videos in each category (Drone Didi & Open Category) will be shortlisted, based on the quality and content of the videos for final evaluation.

Final evaluation of the shortlisted videos will be undertaken by a distinguished jury comprising of representatives from eminent organizations and industry experts. This jury will select the final prize winning videos, from the shortlisted videos.

Announcement of winners

The winners will be announced by early January, 2025. Prizes will be awarded for the following positions:

  • First, Second & Third positions of each categories.
  • Two Consolation prizes
  • Digital appreciation certificates will be given to the shortlisted videos in each category.
  • Details of prizes to be awarded will be updated shortly.
  • Keep an eye out for announcements and prepare for a chance to take home Overwhelming awards.

Incentives for Prize Winners

  • The prize winners will be awarded with exciting prize and certification at the WAVE SUMMIT scheduled to be held at Delhi from 5th to 9th February 2025.
  • The prize winners will also get the exciting opportunity to be part of WAVE SUMMIT where they can showcase their talent to the best platform in the Media & Entertainment Industry.

  • Participants will be communicated via registered email Id’s.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring accurate email along with communication details.
  • Ensure that your entry meets all submission requirements outlined in the competition guidelines, including format, length, and any specific content criteria.
  • Fill out all required submission forms accurately and thoroughly. Incomplete forms may delay the processing of your entry.
  • Double-check all information provided in your entry, including personal details, entry titles, and descriptions, to ensure accuracy.
